The screws I have used here are for plaster board (chalk board), the reason I used these was the support it would give to the plastic dash when going over rough dirt roads and sorts
To enable my GPS (MRL 312 4X4) to talk to my laptop without a cable this was the better option. The only problem I had for it was that I had to build a Power Supply for it as it only required 5 volts. Dick Smiths helped me with this
This was the standard COM port you pick up anywhere, just had to work out where transmit and receive was.
I have finished the install, this is how it will look when not connected up
This is the view of the Screen from the rear seat. A bit of glare, but only when not in use. The glare becomes less of a problem
Due to the fact that I have vinyl seat, the glare is quite anoying, but nothing a seat cover wont fix or a towel over the reflection area
Although not the greatest position for the laptop in a river crossing or mud hole, it does allow aircon from the drivers position to cool it down, also it has fairly good access if the rear seats are out or in their upright positions
Just to show that the glare goes when the Screen is working
